Safe Practices in Jiu-Jitsu

Here are some tips to keep you and your partner safe on the mats. Being cautious for your own body is never enough to prevent injury. You must look out for your training partners as well. The more people look out for each other the safer our gym sessions become.

1. No Scissor takedowns in the gym.

2. Jumping closed guard.

3. Forcing takedown with foot planted

4. Pulling back from turtle.

5. Spiking the head.

6. Head posted in wrong direction

7. Overstacking

8. Cranking Submissions.

9. Slamming.

10. Posting hands on ground when being taken down.

11. Knee Torque from Knee shield.

12. Spinning with bad timing out of leg locks.
